UPS bypass panel

The new bypass panel for the ups arrived today. The bypass panel makes it possible to move the ups from the power cycle whiteout any interruption. This is very handy when the ups need maintenance.

100% uptime in 2011

From the start of our datacenter we have reached a uptime of 100% for the year 2011. We had only 2 small power disruptions, but the ups's did take over.

Start build phase 2

The seconds build phase of our datacenter is started. We will expand our infrastructure. We start with the new Ups systems, redundant power feeds, fire detection (vesda) and acces control. The build will be completed in march-april.

APC / MGE Galaxy UPS

The first step in building the new power grid has been made. Today we received the MGE / APC Galaxy 5000 UPS. A Ups wich will power 30 racks for 10 minutes.

Today we opened our doors to our brand new datacenter. All the construction has been completed and the datacenter is ready for use.

New website

Today we launched our new website. As you can see we replaced the design photo's with real photos. Also we translated the site to English.

Walls painted

Today all the walls were painted, giving the datacenter the final touch before opening.

The co2 fire extinguishers are placed in the datacenter.

Roofpart replaced

Today a part of the roof was replaced. This was done for security purposes.

Extra racks

We added 2 new Rittal racks to our existing racks. The new racks are the same model, but only with different doors. These doors take less space when working at the rear side off the rack.

Cooling system operational

After 2 days of hard work, our datacenter is now cooled by a new Uniflair downflow cool unit. For the new Uniflair airco we needed to place some chillers on the roof.

Cooling solution

After 2 weeks of comparing cooling solutions we finally decided to go for the downflow cooling (with the free air cooling option) from Uniflair. The units are ordered and will be arriving within the next 2 weeks.

[Dutch] Start koeloplossing

Met een koelbedrijf is er gekeken wat de beste koeloplossing is voor het datacenter. Hierbij moeten we een keuze maken welke serverruimte airco het beste is en welke mogelijkheden er zijn mbt free air koeling.

De security camera's zijn opgehangen (zowel buiten als binnen).

[Dutch] Eerste server online

De eerste server is opgehangen in het datacenter. Dit betekend nog niet dat het datacenter af is, maar alwel dat de servers al opgehangen kunnen worden. We zijn hiermee in de afrondfase gekomen.

De elektricien heeft alle kabels aangelegd naar de racks en de groepenkast geïnstalleerd. Vanaf nu hebben de eerste 10 racks een eigen 16 ampère aansluiting met zekering en kWh meter.
