Cold corridor principle

Monday 12 May 2014

The temperatures in the cold corridor began slowly to rise. So it was time that we closed the cold corridor, meaning that we place roofs and doors to keep the cold air trapped in front of the servers.
This helped a lot and the temperatures began to drop in front of the racks. Unfortunately we noticed that our current AC unit was not able to produce enough pressure to get the cold air all to the top of the racks. Meaning that the upper sections of the racks was not getting enough cold air and was hotter then the middle and lower sections. We decided to place a order for a new unit, which should arrive in 1 to 2 months.

Monday 23 September 2013

Today we added blindplates to our racks. The blindplates keeps the hot and cold air separated. The cold air can only travel thru the servers to the back of the racks.
With this add-on we can cool more efficient.

Datafloor temperature measurements

Friday 2 August 2013

Today we started to monitor the temperatures on the datafloor with dozen temperature sensors.
With the measurements we will create a better picture in temperature difference in our datafloor.

UPS room cooling

Monday 27 May 2013

We added a 5kw cooling AC to our UPS room, so that we can cool our UPS units. With a constant low temperature we will be able to extend the lifespan of the batteries.

Datacenter Timelapse Construction Video

Friday 10 May 2013

We created a time-lapse video of the construction of our datacenter. The camera toke a picture every minute for for months long.

Chiller fan replaced

Wednesday 8 May 2013

One of our chiller fans was broken, and we replaced the fan within 24 hours. Meanwhile we added some emergency cooling to composite the missing cooling capacity.

Roof extra isolated

Thursday 2 May 2013

We noticed on sunny days that we receive extra warmth from the roof. We added some extra isolation to keep out the heat.

Video fiber construction

Sunday 14 April 2013

In the following video you can see how the fiber line was constructed. The video is in dutch, but the most parts doesn't need any description really.
